Two Overnight Thefts from Vehicles in Norwalk

Motor vehicles were entered and items were taken from two spots in Norwalk over the past two nights.

Vehicles in two spots in Norwalk were entered overnight in separate incidents the past two nights, residents told police.

None of the vehicles showed signs of forced entry. Police gave no reason to believe the incidents were in any way connected.

One resident told police she didn't remember if she locked the Ford Explorer, Crown Victoria and Plymouth Saturn in her driveway on Hedge Drive.

(The location of 1 Hedge Dr. is here, but that exact address is only given for purposes of showing where the street is in Norwalk -- the incident took place elsewhere on the street.)

Each vehicle showed signs that it had been entered -- either with a glove compartment open, papers strewn about or, in one case, a door open (the seat got wet overnight).

Only small change was taken. The theft took place sometime between 10 p.m. Wednesday, the last time she saw the cars, and 6 a.m. this morning, Thursday, the next time she saw them.

The other report came in Wednesday for vehicles entered sometime between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday on Seaview Avenue. (Here is where 1 Seaview Ave. is located -- not the exact spot where the incident took place.)

The owner said he left his vehicle locked, although afterward it showed no signs of forced entry. A winter coat and a raincoat were taken from the vehicle, and a door was left partly open.
