Two-Car I-95 Accident Sends Three to Hospital

The 7:30 a.m. morning-rush-hour accident on Interstate 95 southbound lanes in Westport caused lane closures and delayed commuters before it was cleared at 8:15 a.m..

A two-car accident on I-95 south between exits 18 and 17 that occurred around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday resulted in three people being transported to the hospital with injuries.

The Westport Fire Department, Westport EMS and Connecticut State Police reportedly responded to the two-car, rear-end type accident in the center lane, just south of the Hales Road overpass.

The accident resulted in the closure of two lanes and significant backup of morning commuter traffic. Fluids leaking from one vehicle were absorbed using Speedi-Dri and the accident was reportedly cleared by 8:15 a.m.
