Someone Made off with Frosty the Snowman on Driftwood Lane

That perambulating snowman, Frosty, appears to have been taken from a Driftwood Lane yard under suspicious circumstances over the weekend.

A Frosty the Snowman decoration that once graced the front of a home on Driftwood Lane has been stolen, according to police reports.

The reports do not mention a snowman carrying a broomstick and running about the village square shouting "Catch me if you can!" All they say is that Frosty is missing.

They only say that Frosty, with a value of $100, as given by the homeowner, was seen until Friday, just the same as you and me, but on Saturday the homeowner realized it was gone.

There were no witnesses who reported seeing Frosty go, thumpity-thump-thump, thumpity-thump-thump, over the fields of snow. In fact, there were no fields of snow in the city of Norwalk on that day.

Nor was there any mention of a traffic cop hollering "Stop" at Frosty.

According to the song, Frosty waved to children saying, "Don't you fear, I'll be back again, someday," but police don't seem to have any evidence that the statement was made in the present circumstances, so the event is being viewed as a larceny.

No old silk hat was mentioned in police reports, either. The matter is still under investigation.
