Police: Man with Brass Knuckles Trespassing at Roodner Court

The man police stopped and later arrested said he was visiting another man at Roodner Court -- but that other man doesn't live there, according to Norwalk police.

Police on routine patrol at the Roodner Court public housing complex found Keon Salmond, 21, of Bridgeport there and arrested him on charges of trespassing and illegally carrying a dangrous weapon, Norwalk police said.

Police gave this account (an accusation not proven in court) of the matter:

At 9:39 p.m. Sunday, police saw Salmond in the complex and asked him what he was doing there. Salmond said he was visiting a man and named him, but that man is not a resident of Roodner Court.

Police also found Salmond had brass knuckles in his pocket. In the past, Salmond had been convicted of second-degree burglary and violation of probation.

Salmond, of Iranistan Avenue in Bridgeport, was initially held on $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear Oct. 25 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
