Schools Reopen, Trains Run, Life Goes On

No outages reported early Thursday

Back to school. Power back. Back to a more normal commute. Back to shopping. But as our warns, be careful about slipping on your feet and sliding in the car, at least in the early morning.

Norwalk Public Schools are back in session today. "ALL schools are open on time today," the school system Web site says this morning, in big, bold, red letters.

As of 6:18 a.m., Connecticut Light & Power Co. and The United Illuminating Co. reported no outages in Fairfield County.

Despite difficult commuting issues on the Metro-North Railroad as a result of the winter storms this year, MTA is reporting good service today on the New Haven line. Due to ongoing weather related equipment shortages, however, the MTA announced a that begins Feb. 7.
