Norwalk Art Festival:Mathews Park: Norwalk

Norwalk’s
Mathews Park will come alive with fine arts and crafts this weekend, June 29
and 30 from 10am to 5pm.  The first
annual Norwalk Art Festival
will have more than 85 juried, hand selected artists
showcasing museum quality paintings, prints, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics and
fine crafts. Several participating artists have never offered their creations
outside of museums and galleries.

Hosted by local arts event specialists, Gordon Fine Arts,
the show is supported by the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Stepping
Stones Museum, Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, Family & Children's Agency,
Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County, Norwalk Parks Department and NicaPhoto, a
Norwalk non-profit organization providing educational support, nutritional
programs, and skills training to help impoverished Nicaraguan children sustain
themselves.

Jerry's Artarama has generously donated supplies for a free children’s
creative arts center, the museums will open their doors for special family
tours, and guided tours of the historic Pine Island
graveyard will be conducted. Sunday morning at 10:30 the show will open
with a special Art Festival Yoga class lead by Lauri MacLean. The Family
and Children’s Agency will be on hand to connect with potential foster families.
After visiting all of the exhibitors, take a stroll along Norwalk’s
newly redesigned Oyster
Shell Park!
