Darien Arts Center

Applications are now being accepted for the Ginny Wright Scholarship. The Darien Arts Center awards this $2,000 scholarship to a high school senior in Darien who will continue their study of the visual arts or design in college. It is not necessary that the student be declaring art as a major at this point, as long as he or she plans to take art courses. The award is given in memory of Virginia Wright, a talented artist, dedicated volunteer and generous benefactor. Completion of application, including artwork, artist's letter and a letter of support must be received by Friday, April 26, 2024. All submissions will be digital. A winner will be announced with a certificate presented at the Darien High School evening award ceremony on May 22, and a check will follow by mail. Founded in 1975, the Darien Arts Center (DAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing visual and performing arts programs and events for the community. The DAC offers educational programs in Dance, Visual Arts, Music &amp; Theatre, &amp; special events &amp; live performances. Private donations, grants, tuition fees &amp; ticket sales fund the DAC, which is located at 2 Renshaw Road, behind the Town Hall.
