Jefferson Elementary, part of the Norwalk Public School system,  is a magnet school focusing on science.More  Located in central Norwalk, the facility is modern and air-conditioned. Jefferson has partnered with several local not-for-profits and for-profit corporations, such as the Maritime Aquarium and General Electric, to provide training and mentorships for students.  In addition, there are several special programs the school offers, such as a pre-kindergarten session taught by Jefferson's teachers and an after-school Power Hour where extra reading instruction is offered. Uniforms are required.

The school strives to help students with alternative needs and caters to the student body on an individual basis. Norwalk Museum

If you have a child in public school in Fairfield County, chances are they have taken a trip to the Norwalk Museum,More located on North Main Street near MLK Boulevard.  

The Museum has an extensive collection of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, which is believed to have been created in Norwalk, and the Museum was successful in its quest to have the dolls entered into the Toy Hall of Fame.  

Of course, there are also archives and photos from the history of Norwalk itself, and interested parties may make an appointment to view the documents in person.  

There is also a conference room that is available for public use.

The school has a full library and computers in all its classrooms. There are more than 30 faculty members, including a special-education teacher and a full-time social worker.

Although Columbus Magnet School is part of Norwalk Public Schools, students must apply and are accepted on a lottery basis; admissions decisions are made in January. As such, the school has a diverse student body drawn from every district of Norwalk.

Organizations such as the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Family Resource Center utilize Naramake's facilities after-hours.
