As the City of Norwalk Fire Department Headquarters, Station 2 is the busiest fire house in town.  It isMore centrally located and is the first responder to incidents on Interstate 95, Metro North railroad, and several large housing and mercantile complexes.  

The station itself is manned by engine, ladder, and rescue trucks as well as a command car.  It is also the home office of the Chief, Assistant Chief, and the training division.

The Division of Apparatus Maintenance is located adjacent to the Central Station Headquarters and staffs mechanicsMore who specialize not only in maintaining fire department vehicles but also adapting older models to new uses.

The staff maintains the department's engine, ladder and rescue trucks, as well as several smaller vehicles. They also maintain hazardous materials and specialized rescue equipment.
