As the City of Norwalk Fire Department Headquarters, Station 2 is the busiest fire house in town.  It isMore centrally located and is the first responder to incidents on Interstate 95, Metro North railroad, and several large housing and mercantile complexes.  

The station itself is manned by engine, ladder, and rescue trucks as well as a command car.  It is also the home office of the Chief, Assistant Chief, and the training division.

East Norwalk Fire Station

"The Pride of the East Side" is located on Van Zant street in a historic building and serves a large portion ofMore Norwalk's waterfront. Station 3 is a single-engine house that serves the heavily populated east side's wood-frame homes, many located on narrow streets. East Norwalk also serves part of Interstate 95 and the Metro North railroad. Visitors should watch out for Verne, a long-ago member of the Mayflower firehouse who's ghost is said to roam the building.
