Historic SoNo is gearing up for the holidays with the launch of its First Annual Santa Crawl on Dec. 7 from 12:00pm to 8:00p.m.
For a small registration fee, participants can wander South Norwalk's business district and take advantage of drink specials at participating restaurants. Participants are also encouraged to dress up like Santa, an elf or some other holiday-themed attire.
Visitors to SoNo who register will be eligible for drink specials, receive a souvenir Santa Crawl cup and t-shirt, and free parking at the Maritime Garage, compliments of the Norwalk Parking Authority.
Shawn Baker of Black Bear Saloon came up with the idea after attending similar events in New York City.
“I just love downtown South Norwalk and want to see more people introduced to the bars/restaurants and nightlife that it has to offer,” Baker said in a release.
“As far as I know it is the first event of its kind," Baker added. "However, I do hope that in the future we can do a number of these types of events in SoNo because it is set up perfectly for this kind of cross-promotional event.”
