Norwalk Police Open House: See Cops up Close, Bring the Kids

If you've ever enjoyed a crime drama, now's the time to see the real thing, up close and local.

You don't need to get arrested to see the workings of the Norwalk Police Department this weekend, just show up from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday to take the tour.

Open House at the Police Department headquarters includes not only tours presented by Police Explorer Post 1913, with a department representative explaining the function of each division: "Also on hand will be members of the motorcycle unit, K9 unit, crime scene unit and our emergency services unit," according to a news release from the department.

The open house is part of the City of Norwalk Centennial Celebration -- it's been 100 years since various local governments consolidated into one city.
