Everything Dogs (and Cats), Brought to You by Patch

Betty, 4, Great Dane Mix, from OPIN

Betty is a beautifully marked Great Dane mix who once again found herself at the shelter when her owner of four years could not keep her due to landlord restrictions.

Betty is a very sweet dog with everyone she meets.  She was so happy in her former home and is dying to be loved again.  Betty’s ideal home is either, a family with older children because of her size or a single owner household.

To meet Betty or any of the other dogs (or cats) at our local animal shelter, please stop down any day at 201 Magee Avenue in Stamford.

This is OPIN's signature event where animal lovers get to mingle with other animal lovers while receiving valuable information and products for your pet.  It is also the place to learn about OPIN and how the community can help with pets in need. Adoptable dogs will also be on hand, looking for homes of their own.

Tweedy The Blind Cat

Tweedy is an affectionate, neutered, seven year old blind cat.  His current owner found him when he was just a few weeks old, covered in dirt and bugs and without eyes.  Apparently he had suffered from some sort of virus in the womb which prevented his eyes from developing.  But he has otherwise been healthy.

Unfortunately his owner has fallen under financial difficulties and has moved back home with a parent who is allergic to Tweedy.  He is looking for either someone to adopt Tweedy, or someone who can care for him temporarily until his owner can move into a place where he can bring Tweedy.
Tweedy is currently in Greenwich and has never been introduced to other cats.  If you can help this nice pair out, please contact diezeldog@me.com

Prince is a Calm, Quiet and Friendly (non-shedding) Shih Tzu

Prince is a neutered adult Shih Tzu who is calm and friendly.  He is good with children, and gets along with other dogs and cats and is house-trained. He is quiet and walks well on leash.  He is the ideal dog for someone looking for companionship in an easy, non-shedding package.  He requires daily eye drops for a dry-eye condition.  Please fill out an adoption application at the Cat Assistance website.

Dusty the Beagle

Dusty is an neutered adult Beagle who is good with other dogs and cats and older children.  He is house trained, but a little overweight.  Like many Beagles, he is a bit food-obsessed and should not be in a home with young kids whose fingers may get between him and a good snack...  Dusty would do best in a home with a fenced yard and someone dedicated to walking him.  application, inquiries to www.CatAssistanceNY.org
