SportSeen: Brien McMahon Hoops Downs Newtown 64-45, Advances in States [Video]
On a special senior night honoring the entire Senator roster, McMahon moved on in the Class LL state tournament with an authoritative win over Newtown.
THE GAME IN BRIEF:
on Monday rebounded from a 77-75 loss to Westhill in the FCIAC quarterfinals. The Senators pulled out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter but by half time were trailing the Nighthawks, 22-27. Newtown Senior Josh Engler scored an impressive 21 points in the game. During the second half, McMahon poured on the defense, and Al Alzuphar turned on his whole game and lit up the gym, scoring a season-high 23 points for the win.
