Theboys basketball team suffered a 63-58 loss to No. 6 seed Fairfield Prep in the first round of the Class LL state tournament Tuesday night at Alumi Hall.

The Jesuits improved to 20-3 while the Bears concluded Tom Keyes' first season as coach at 10-11 after putting up a solid fighting against their much-higher seeded opponents.

Fairfield Prep, which is trying to get back to the Class LL state final, will face another FCIAC opponent in the second round in Westhill, which advanced with a 68-57 victory over Norwich Free Academy.
