Norwalk boys soccer ranked seventh

The Norwalk boys soccer team climbed one spot into a tie for seventh in the latest Connecticut Soccer Coaches Association large school poll. The Bears improved to 7-1-1 with Tuesday's 3-1 win over city rival McMahon.

The poll includes three FCIAC schools as Staples is ranked third while Trumbull is tied for seventh. Fairfield Prep debuted this week at No. 10.

Pomperaug, which tied Brookfield on Monday, again tops the poll with an 8-0-1 record. The Panthers are followed by South Windsor (9-0-0), Staples (7-0-2), Farmington (6-0-3), Wethersfield (7-1-0), Trumbull (7-1-1), Norwalk, Glastonbury (6-2-2), Simsbury (7-1-2) and Fairfield Prep (7-0-2).

Norwalk is back in action on Thursday against Harding at home (7 p.m.)
