With a temperature of 28 degrees, the Yankees opened the day early with an 8 a.m. start against the Middlesex Barbarians of Massachusetts, who posted a 12-3 victory.

A Suffolk forward was overheard to say, "I don't like that {they're} twice our size." Early into the second half, the referee suggested to the Yankees that they were "tackling to hard" and requested they "take it easy on (Suffolk)."
The win allowed the Yankees to continue on in the tournament, but their day ended with a 13-0 defeat to the Washington (D.C.) Renegades. Connecticut finished the game a man down after forward Rene Abdalah was given a yellow card midway through the second half.
