Add NHL Hall of Famer and five-time Stanley Cup winner Glenn Anderson to the list of players who have committed to play in the Big Assist III, which is set for 7 p.m on July 13 at the Terry Conners Rink in Stamford.

Anderson, who runs a hockey school at Terry Conners, played in last year's game and promised to return.

The hockey exhibition game is hosted by Darien native Ryan Shannon, who is currently a free agent after spending the previous three seasons with the Ottawa Senators.

The game raises money for the Obie Harrington-Howes Foundation, which supports individuals with spinal injury and disease.

-- Norwalk faces Fairfield in the final of the 14-year-old District Two Babe Ruth tournament on Tuesday at McMahon High School (5:30 p.m.).

In the 13-year-old tournament, Norwalk takes on Trumbull in the loser's bracker final at Bunnell in the Stratford (5:45 p.m.). The winner advances to Wednesday's final, also at Bunnell at 5:45 p.m.

-- After taking the Fourth of July off, the District One Little League tournament resumes on Tuesday and Norwalk is back in action against Wilton at Bill Terry Field (7:30 p.m.).

Norwalk (1-1) is tied with Wilton (1-1) for third place in Pool B, trailing Darien American (3-0) and Wilton (2-0).

-- The ninth annual Mossman Sprint Triathlon begins Saturday morning at 6:30 at Norwalk's Calf Pasture Beach. The competition includes a 0.5 mile swim, 12.5 mile bike and 3.1 miles run.

The fees are:  $65 15 – 19 Youthl $75 Individual Age Group (Adult);
$125 Relay.

The kids Mini Mossman Youth Triathlon begins on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Calf Pasture Beach.

There are three ages groups: 4-6, 7-10, 11-14. The 4-6 year olds swim 20 yards, bike 1 mile (training wheels allowed), Run 100 yards (1 parent helper allowed);  the 7-10 year olds swim 100 yards, bike 2 miles and run 0.5 miles; the 11-14 year olds swim 200 yards, bike four miles and run one mile.
