Norwalk 's Sean Ireland Named CT Coach of the Year By MSG Varsity

Sean Ireland, who guided the football team to the Class LL state playoffs in his first season, was named the Connecticut Coach of the Year by MSG Varsity.
Reaching the postseason for the first time 1998, the Bears finished 9-2, losing to top-ranked Xavier 55-14 in the semifinals of the Class LL playoff. Norwalk's 21-15 victory over Conard in the Class LL quarterfinals was the first postseason victory in the program's history

In addition, Norwalk defensive back Delshawn Wilson was named to the Connecticut High School Coaches Association All-State team, one of three FCIAC players to earn the honor.
Wilson was joined on the All-State team by linebackers Shane Nastahowski of Greenwich and Kevin McDonough of New Canaan.
