McMahon Boys Drop To 0-2 After 85-82 Double OT Loss to Danbury

The boys basketball team dropped to 0-2 following an 85-82 double overtime loss to Danbury on Friday.
Tom Hinton scored 21 points to lead four players in double figures for the Senators. Darkym Stroud had 19, Larry McKinney 14 and Justin Walker 11 for McMahon.

Danbury won it second double overtime contest in as many days as the Hatters opened their season with a 109-106 victory over Bridgeport Central.
McMahon forced the overtime by outscoring Danbury 23-17 in the fourth quarter.

However, the Hatters had a huge advantage at the foul line, converting 15-of-28 free throws, compared to just 6-of-14 for the Senators.

Seven-footer Paschal Chukwu just missed a triple-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds and nine blocks as the Trinity Catholix boys basketball defeated Norwalk 80-69 on Friday night.
St. Patrick's (N.J.) transfer Jason Boswell poured in 27 points for the Crusaders (2-0) and Schadrac Casimir added 22.
Rasheen Thompson, freshman Roy Kane and Saeed Soulemane each had 14 points for the Bears (1-1).
Norwalk stayed in the game by making 11 3-pointers but got no closer than 64-57 following a 12-2 run with three minutes remaining.

The McMahon girls basketball team slipped to 2-2 following a 64-29 loss to Danbury, which improved to 3-0.
Aleigh Fitzpatrick scored eight points and Jazmine Taylor had six to lead McMahon. No other player had more than four points for the Senators.
Danbury outscored McMahon 19-4 in the first quarter, then extended its cushion to 36-10 at the half.

Mackenzie Griffin scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Trinity Catholic girls basketball team rallied for a 47-45 victory over Norwalk on Friday.
Ali Palma added 11 points for the Crusaders, who improved to 3-1. Norwalk dropped to 0-3.
Katie Schmidt scored 11 points and Emma Oyomba added 10 for the Bears, who took a 39-29 lead into the final period.
