Norwalk Field Hockey Falls To Cheshire 1-0 In Class M Finals

The Bears were playing in the first final in school history while the top-seeded Rams captured their ninth state crown.

The Norwalk field hockey team's bid for its first state championship in school history came up just short Saturday.

Miranda Garcia's goal with just under 19 minutes remaining in the first half held up as top-seed Cheshire defeated the third-seeded Bears 1-0 in the Class M final at Wethersfield.

Norwalk (15-4-1) pressed for the equalizer, but could break through against a Cheshire team that did not allow a goal in its four state tournament wins.
