State Senator Bob Duff (D-Norwalk) recently announced that the students and staff of Norwalk’s Richard C. Briggs High School will soon enjoy the use of brand new computers, with the help of financial assistance from the State of Connecticut.
“We live in a fast-paced world, and our children need to be up to speed with the latest technology in order to compete in an increasingly globalized economy. Computers are now essential education tools, and I am delighted that the state will be financing new computers for Briggs High,” said Senator Duff in a release.
Last week, the State Bond Commission released the agenda for its upcoming September 27th meeting, and included a proposed $302,990 to fund the purchase of new computers, other technology and furniture for Briggs High School. The proposal is expected to receive the Commission’s unanimous approval this week.

The funds come as part of a larger effort to make improvements to nine Commissioner’s Network Schools across Connecticut. These projects will include alterations, repairs, improvements, technology and equipment to help address school building and site deficiencies, and to promote the health, safety, and learning of students.
