Norwalk Public Schools Remain Closed

A decision on when they will be open will be made on day-to-day basis.

Hurricane Irene may be gone, but her impact is still being felt. Because of power outages, the Norwalk Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday August 30. In additon, all extracurricular activities have been cancelled. The central office will be open.

Many schools are scheduled are open on Wednesday but they are in a holding pattern as adminstrators try to determine if that will be feasible. A decision about the schedule for the rest of the week and the opening of school for students will be determined on a day-by-day basis.

Mayor Richard A. Moccia said on Monday that he is urging CL&P to concentrate on the areas near the schools first when it comes to deciding on the order of making repairs.
