Marvin School Principal Tapped For 'Special Assignment' Role

Marvin School Principal Myrna Tortorello to serve as Principal on Special Assignment to the Superintendent, the Norwalk School District recently announced.

Principal Myrna Tortorello has been appointed to serve as Principal on Special Assignment to the Superintendent and will now work out of the Norwalk School District's central office.

Sue Ellen O’Shea, assistant principal at Kendall School, has been named interim principal at Marvin, the Norwalk School District recently announced.

In her new role Tortorello will oversee several federally funded programs, including section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the implementation of Scientific Research-Based Interventions, according to a district press release. In addition she will oversee Academically Talented and will assist schools during their transition to the new .

Interim Superintendent Tony Daddona said Tortorello "will help the district in much-needed oversight of the schools’ federal academic standards, as well as the critical transition to the Common Core Standards,” in her new role.
