'Multi Color Woodblock Printing' Workshop
The Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk offers a two-day workshop, "Multi-Color Woodblock Printing," 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 22-23.
The course introduces students to multiple-block prints including block registration methods and color layering, brayer inking techniques, and printing on the press. A great workshop for those with some carving experience who want to further their skills or anyone who needs more help with multi-color printing. Paper choices will also be discussed (Western versus Asian), tool sharpening, and a few fun experimental techniques. All levels.
Jennifer Hughes has been teaching lithography, relief printing and book arts workshops and classes for over 10 years. She earned a BA from Wellesley College and an MFA from the University of Iowa. Her work has been shown in juried and solo exhibitions the US as well as abroad. Currently, she resides in the Boston area with her spouse, son, cat and dog.
The cost is $225 plus $20 studio fee; limited to 8.
