Day of Thanks

Day of Thanks started as a very simple idea for Norwalk Community College to express our gratitude to the surrounding community on our 50th anniversary. Every year, dedicated students in more than 40 student clubs at NCC organize numerous drives to collect food, clothing, books, toys and other items needed in our community. While these separate drives each have a significant impact upon the community of Norwalk, some students wondered, “What could happen if we all unite for just one day and have a drive where everyone is involved?” Day of Thanks is just this sort of event. During Day of Thanks, we want everyone at NCC to come together to collect as much clothing, food, books, toys and toiletries as we can for one single day. All collected items will be organized and sorted in the East Campus Atrium and there will also be hands on community service opportunities that day available in the atrium.

Please bring non-perishable food, good condition clothing, books, new toys and toiletries to East Campus and help us make this event remarkable!

This event is sponsored by Student Activities and the Service-Learning Office/Club. If you or your organization would like to participate in Day of Thanks, please contact Rachael Lederman at SGovernment@ncc.commnet.edu
