Board of Education to Begin Search for New Superintendent

The board hopes to makes its choice by mid-May, according to the Hour of Norwalk.

 

The Norwalk Board of Education announced at its Tuesday night meeting that it will begin the search for a new superintendent of schools to to succeed Interim Superintendent Anthony Daddona and hopes to hire someone by mid-May, according to the Hour of Norwalk.

After hearing a presentation from Search Committee Chairman and Norwalk Community College President David Levinson and speaking with PROACT Search Regional President Steve Kupfer in executive session, the BoE will vote on the position profile, which will help PROACT Search, LLC find the right candidates based on a point sytem, according to the Hour. The BoE is hoping that the chosen candidate will start on July 1.

PROACT Search, LLC developed and distributed a community survey back in January to receive "community input on the desired characteristics of the next Norwalk Superintendent of Schools." The survey featured a list of criteria and parents were asked to choose what they felt were the 10 most important attributes listed out of the 33 listed.
