A Tasty Way to Support Norwalk Public Education

Taste for Education is a great way to support Norwalk Public Schools mission of excellence.

Sample great cuisine for a cause at Norwalk Education Foundation's Taste for Education on Thursday, Nov. 7, 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Aitoro’s, 401 Westport Avenue in Norwalk.  

All proceeds will go toward the organization’s mission of supporting excellence in education in Norwalk Public Schools.  

Guests can look forward to enjoying a sampling of local culinary delights from several area restaurants including Bar Sugo, Bella Pasta, BJ Ryans/ BANC House, Cafe Madrid, Fountainhead Wines, Forever Sweet, Mama’s Boy, Saffron.  Ninety 9 Bottles and Drinx Unlimited are providing beer tastings.

In addition, the Norwalk High School Culinary Department will offer items prepared by students in the program. 

There will also be a silent auction featuring Red Sox tickets, spa gift certificates and a Dooney & Bourke satchel.  Sponsors of the event include local companies, FactSet, Pepperidge Farm and Terex.

"The community looks forward to this unique and lively event every year," said Norwalk Education Foundation Director Gloria Tenofsky in a release.  "The evening helps support Norwalk public education while allowing local eateries to promote their specialties."

Founded in 1997, Norwalk Education Foundation (NEF) is a nonprofit organization that raises private funds to support Norwalk Public Schools. NEF promotes teacher effectiveness through professional development; classroom innovation through teacher mini-grants; and community engagement through local partnerships. This year, NEF is focusing on efforts to support teacher training around the Common Core State Standards.

Tickets can be purchased online at Norwalk Education Foundation's website  and click on the Taste for Education logo.
