State Rep. Terrie Wood to Run For Third Term

Wood, who serves as a ranking member of the General Assembly's Select Committee on Children, as well as on the Appropriations Committee, Human Services Committee and Domestic Violence Task Force, ran unopposed in the last two elections.

State Rep. Terrie Wood (R-Darien/Norwalk) has announced that she will run for a third term serving the , which now includes less of and more of .

Wood, who serves as a ranking member of the General Assembly's Select Committee on Children, as well as on the Appropriations Committee, Human Services Committee and Domestic Violence Task Force, ran unopposed in the last two elections. The Darien Times reports that the Darien Democratic Town Committee is interviewing potential candidates to run against Wood in the November election.

A resident of Darien for 33 years, and previously a resident of Rowayton for four years, Wood has been involved in both communities in a range of capacities, having served as president of the from 2003 to 2007, co-chair of the Referendum Committee for a new in 2001, The Community Fund Allocations Panel (formerly The United Way) in 2006 and 2007, and as a co-founder of Darien Environmental Group in 1990, according to her website. She has also been involved with the Darien Library, , Representative Town Meeting, and The Community Fund, among other groups and organizations.

Darien Republicans will host a convention for the nomination for the 141st District on Wednesday, May 16, at Town Hall.
