Recount Reiterates Romano Re-elected

The recount in the race for at-large seats on the Norwalk Common Council increased Joanne T. Romano's lead from one vote to nine votes, giving her the fifth of five at-large seats in the 15-member body.

Update 10:14 p.m.:

The recount for the at-large race for Common Council changed nothing from the original results but the numbers: Joanne T. Romano won re-election to the body by nine votes instead of one.

Democrat Sharon Stewart—who had, essentially, asked for the recount—placed seventh in a race which had 10 candidates but only five top-vote-getting winners. The 10 other seats on the 15 member council were elected from the five "councilmanic" districts, A through E.
