Norwalk Firefighters Union Endorses Moccia

In explaining the union's endorsement, the president of the union representing Norwalk firefighters said Moccia understands the needs of the city's firefighters and has worked well with them.

International Association of Fire Fighters Union, Local 830, the union representing firefighters in Norwalk, has endorsed Mayor Richard A. Moccia for re-election, Moccia's campaign announced Wednesday.

"Local 830 is encouraging all of its members as well as the residents of Norwalk to vote for Mayor Dick Moccia for Re-election," said Lefty Petrides, president of the union. "He understands the needs of Norwalk Fire Fighters and has worked well with the union to ensure that our members have the resources needed to keep the citizens of Norwalk safe."

In the same news release, Moccia said: "I am very pleased to have received the endorsement from the men of local 830. As a former Fire Commissioner, and as Mayor, I value the work of our Fire Fighters and I look forward to continuing to work with them as Mayor.”
