Democratic Council Member Matt Miklave of District A announced Thursday morning his plans to explore the possibility for a run for Mayor of Norwalk.
The four-term council member announced he'd filed paperwork with the Town Clerk and will begin fundraising for a possible run in the November 2013 election.
“It is no secret that I have had serious disagreements with the Moccia Administration’s handling of the Board of Education, city budgeting, economic development and the treatment of city workers," Miklave said in an email. "I want to do more than simply criticize the current administration. I want to be part of a larger discussion about what we can do to change the trajectory of our city."
Miklave was elected to the common council in November of 2001 he served on the council and as chair of the Planning Committee until 2007, where he lost a bid for re-election by ten votes.
