Moccia Chooses Beneficiary for Mayor's Ball

Norwalk Mayor makes the decision on who will benefit from his ball.

Norwalk Mayor Richard A. Moccia announced the Child Guidance Center of Mid- Fairfield County will be the beneficiary of the 2012 Mayor’s Ball. The Mayor’s Ball, held annually to benefit a charity of the Mayor’s choosing, is scheduled for January 20, 2012 at the Continental Manor.

Mayor Moccia said, “The Child Guidance Center of Mid Fairfield County provides vital mental health services for children and their families who otherwise would not be able to obtain assistance. Donating the proceeds from the Mayor’s Ball will confirm the generous nature of our City and all those who attend the Ball in meeting a responsibility to care for the most vulnerable members of our community.”

The Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County is a not-for-profit organization, established in 1956, which provides comprehensive mental health services to the most difficult and complex behaviorally-challenged children, youth and families who would have no other place to turn to for professional help. The Center is designed to meet the needs of many families in the community who lack the resources and abilities to cope with the stress of family problems.
