Fighting Foreclosure

Clinics to help prevent a foreclosure at City Hall

While the kick-off press conference for the Foreclosure Prevention Clinics was officially on February 14, the real start for people interested in foreclosure help is February 17. The clinics are free and open to any homeowner facing foreclosure. The program is supported by Congressman Jim Himes, Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia, Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch and Norwalk Mayor Richard Moccia.

On hand at each clinic will be information for homeowners about the legal process of a foreclosure and what mediation services may be available. The clinics are planned to rotate each month between the three cities.  The Connecticut Fair Housing Center and and Homes Saved by Faith are collaborating to provide the assistance and information about where to find resources from state agencies or locate volunteer attorneys to discuss their situation.

Norwalk's clinics for 2011 are from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at in the Mary McCarthy Room (1st Floor) on these dates:
