Evening/Nightime Lane Closures on I-95 in Darien, This Monday to Friday

At least a week's worth of evening and overnight lane closures are in store for Interstate 95 drivers from 8:30 p.m. through 5 a.m., starting Monday, probably ending Friday.

Lanes will be closed on Interstate 95 this coming week from Exit 9 to Exit 10, starting at 8:30 p.m. and continuing through 5 a.m., Monday through Friday, July 14-18,the Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced.

The department issued this news release on Wednesday:

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime traffic-counting loop installation project will be performed on Interstate 95 Northbound and Southbound in Darien, July 14-18, 2014.

The “piezo” loop installation project will be performed on Interstate 95 Northbound and Southbound in the vicinity of the Hollow Tree Ridge Road underpass in Darien. 

This project is scheduled to occur from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 to the morning of Friday, July 18, 2014.

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Interstate 95 northbound and southbound between Exit 9 (Seaside Avenue and East Main Street in Stamford) and Exit 10 (Ledge Road and Noroton Avenue in Darien).

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
