Emergency Management: Could Be Several Days For Power Restoration.

Norwalk's Office of Emergency Management says it could be several days before there is comprehensive power restoration.

Norwalk's Office of Emergency Management is saying that, while some residents have had their power restored, it could take several days before there is comprehensive power restoration. The Department of Public Works is working in unison with utility companies to clear debris from streets to help restore electricity.

In addition:

  • The office wants people to assume that every downed power line is a live one and they should not touch or go near them. If they notice a downed power line, they should call CL&P to report it.
  • All Norwalk public libraries are open to all who want to use the Internet and telephones. If people want to simply charge their electronic devices, they are welcome to do so.
  • In the next 24 hours, the Federal Emergency Management Admistration will provide detailed instructions on how to to file reports on damages.
  • Calf Pasture Beach and Veterans Park will remain closed until Wednesday at noon.
