Duff Receives Prestigious NAACP Award

The following is a letter to the editor submitted by State Senator Bob Duff (25th Senatorial District, Norwalk and Darien).

I'd like to thank the Norwalk Branch of the NAACP for honoring me with the Barbara Jean Edmonds Penn Memorial Award for Community Service last week at their Freedom Fund Banquet. It is very humbling to receive such a prestigious recognition.

As I mentioned at the dinner, I'd like to share the award with all of those who work to make a difference in our community.

A little effort from a lot of people is what has the most impact. Whether it's ensuring kids have backpacks for schools, seniors have a ride to the Senior Center or families have food to put on their tables, it takes all of us contributing to get the job done.

Most important, let's work to inspire our young people to serve others. Collectively, we can unlock their passion and build tomorrow's leaders.

Lastly, I'd like to thank my wife, Tracey, and my family for all of their support in enabling me to serve my district and state. It's a job I continue to love.

Sincerely,
Bob Duff
