Duff Lauds Malloy's Selection for DEEP Chief

Gov. Malloy has nominated Robert Klee to replace outgoing DEEP Commissioner, Daniel Esty.

On Thursday State Senator Bob Duff (D-Norwalk), Senate Chairman of the General Assembly’s Energy & Technology Committee, welcomed Governor Malloy’s nomination of Robert Klee to succeed Daniel C. Esty as the Commissioner of the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP).

“I applaud Governor Malloy for his selection of Robert Klee to lead the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection. As Chief of Staff under Commissioner Esty, Mr. Klee has played an essential role in the creation of Connecticut’s Comprehensive Energy Strategy," Duff said in a release.

"His three years of experience at the agency and his extensive background in environmental law and public policy will allow him hit the ground running on day one. This continuation in leadership will ensure that Governor Malloy’s vision for a cleaner, cheaper and more reliable energy future moves forward as planned," added Duff.
