Investigators reported finding shell casings from a small caliber handgun and a spent shotgun shell near a tree in the front yard. It appeared the handgun was fired into the front of the house, including the woman’s bedroom window, while a shotgun was fired at the front door, leaving a large entry hole.

A man using his computer in another bedroom said he noticed the
motion-detection light in the driveway turn on and looked out, which is when he heard four to five gunshots.

The victim’s mother was in a third bedroom and several people were watching television in the living room when the shootings occurred, police said. None of them were injured.

Investigators found skid marks on Woodland Court, which is adjacent to the house.
