Woman Arrested On Four Warrants For Drug Sales

Special Services officers stopped and arrested a woman Monday they knew had four outstanding warrants for narcotics violations.
Elizabeth Torres, 25, was spotted driving a Toyota Corolla at around 1 p.m. in the vicinity of 50 Belden Ave. and was stopped, police said.
Three of the warrants charge her with illegal manufacturer or sale of narcotics, and the fourth criminal attempt at manufacture or sale of narcotics.

Police said they also found Torres possessed 9 Fentenyl patches that were not in an original container identifying them as a prescription drug.
Fentanyl is a synthetic narcotic analgesic, according to the on-line Wikipedia encyclopedia.

Torres was held in lieu of posting combined bonds of $110,000 and given a court date of Aug. 10.
Man Reports Assault on Monroe Street
A man called police at 2:25 p.m. Monday to report several men punched him and threw him down stairs in the area of 24 Monroe St. Officers located the victim bleeding from his left hand.
He was transported to Norwalk Hospital for treatment.
