Woman Arrested For Selling Oxycodone To Undercover Cops

Nowalk Police arrest woman on two occasions for selling prescription drugs.

After a three-month investigation, Norwalk Police arrested a woman on Tuesday for selling prescription drugs to undercover officers.

Lena McRae, 42, of Stamford, allegedly sold oxycodone to undercover officers on two different occasions on the same day, according to Mark Suda, an officer with the special services division of the Norwalk Police Department. The alleged incidents took place back in October when McRae was employed at a Norwalk-based company on Main Avenue.

According to Suda, McRae had a prescription for oxycodone that she filled twice a month, consisting of a total of 480 pills. The prescriptions were allegedly worth $350 each. Officer Suda stated that McRae called the first undercover officer on her cellphone outside of work and sold him 20 pills of oxycodone. Later that day, McRae, according to Suda, placed another call to a person who was also an undercover officer, and allegedly sold him 28 pills.

McRae allegedly obtained the pills from her pharmacy through her company's insurance plan which required a co-pay. According to police officials, there is an on-going investigation for possible insurance fraud by McRae.

  • Possession of narcotics
  • Illegal manufacturing, distribution, sale of prescription drugs
  • Failure to keep drug in original container
  • Sale and possession within distance of school.

Bond was set at $50,000
