Woman Accused of Stealing Bag of Cash

Victim told police money was taken from his motel room.

A Norwalk woman was arrested by warrant Monday for allegedly stealing a bag filled with $20,000 cash from a man's motel room.

Police spokesman Lt. Praveen John said the victim has been staying at the Garden Park Motel, 351 Westport Ave., since 2011. John said he told police three women have visited him in his room.

The man filed a complaint with the police saying a bag containing $20,000 went missing while he was out of his room. John didn't know the date he filed the complaint.

The man told officers when he returned to his room, the window in the bathroom was pushed open and the lock on it broken. Also, he said the bureau in the room was pulled away from the wall.

The man told police the three women knew about the bag because they had seen him go to it to get cash. He said they were the only three people who knew where the bag was located.
