A 20-year-old Wilton woman was caught Wednesday night pulling bottles of wine and a case of beer out of the back of a truck in a parking lot near Liberty Square, police said.
Norwalk police gave this account (an accusation not proven in court) of the incident:
Someone saw Sarah Zech of Ridgefield Road, Wilton, taking the alcoholic beverages out of the truck and took pictures of her doing so.
When police arrived, she tried to run but was apprehended. Police said she had a strong odor of alcohol on her, had trouble walking and seemed to be intoxicated.
She struggled with police and threatened to spit on anyone who came near her. When she arrived at police headquarters for her arrest to be processed, she kicked at the booking cage.
Zech was charged with second-degree burglary, disorderly conduct, third-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest. Her parole officer was contacted. She was initially held on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Sept. 6 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
