Urinalotta Trouble, Boyfriend

An argument between a couple in a bar's bathroom ends badly for the porcelain fixtures.

Police officers responding to a 4:07 p.m. report Sunday of a disturbance in the Diablo's Cantina at 8 Commerce St. entered the restrooms to find Freddy Rodriguez-Canizalez, 36, his girlfriend ,a smashed toilet and a smashed urinal.

Police gave this account of the incident, based on what Rodriguez, his girlfriend or both of them told them:

Rodriguez, of 11 1/2 Grandview Ave., had been putting charges on his girlfriend's debit card at the bar on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday she went to the bar to get the card back from him and followed him into the men's room. An argument ensued as she requested the card.

Neither Rodriguez nor his girlfriend hurt each other physically, police said.

Rodriguez was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, related to the property damage.
