Two Women Injured in Norwalk Apartment Fire
Norwalk firefighters reportedly broke down the door to the fourth-floor apartment and discovered both women unconscious.
Two women were being treated for smoke inhalation at Tuesday after an early morning fire broke out in their apartment in the Sheffield Ridge Condominium complex at 45 Maple Street.
According to a report in The Hour of Norwalk, both women were listed in serious condition as of Tuesday morning.
According to the report, responding to the scene broke down the door to the fourth-floor apartment and discovered both women unconscious. The apartment reportedly did have smoke detectors, however, the women were apparently overcome by smoke before they could escape.

The building was reportedly partially evacuated during the fire, which was put out quickly, and residents have since returned to their apartments. The rest of the building was not damaged by the fire or smoke, according to the report, citing statements made by fire department officials.
Westport Fire Department reportedly provided assistance. No word yet on what caused the fire.
