Two Norwalk Residents Displaced After Fire Damages Home

Norwalk Firefighters extinguish blaze quickly, but damage was significant

Two Norwalk residents are displaced after a fire damages their home on Tuesday evening.

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a call just after 6 p.m. Tuesday about a structure fire at 39 Strawberry Hill Ave. Upon arrival, fire crews were met with a heavy fire from the rear of a two-story residential home.  According to fire officials, no one was home at the time of the fire and a neighbor called 911 to report it.

The fire was contained to the second floor with smoke and water damage to other areas of the house.  The fire was under control in approximately 20 minutes.  However, the home was posted unfit for occupancy by the Fire Marshals and the two occupants of the house that were displaced are being assisted by the Red Cross.
