Back-To-Back Car Burglaries In Same Lot

Police spokeswoman urges everyone to lock their cars and put valuables in the trunk.

Two motorists had the misfortune of parking in a lot at 770 Connecticut Ave. Tuesday afternoon while a car thief was lurking there.

The first burglary was reported at 12:46 p.m. The vehicle's owner reported the front passenger-side window was shattered and a shoulder bag taken.

Police received another call from that location at 1 p.m. The owner told police she was in the Crunch Fitness Center when her purse was taken from her unlocked Chevrolet Tracker.

Police also received a call Tuesday morning from 15 Heron Rd. reporting a car burglary.

The complainant said the car may have been unlocked. Taken was a Kindle Fire worth $99 and and iPad worth $50.

Norwalk Police spokeswoman Sgt. Lisa Cotto warned motorists they should lock their cars and put valuables in the trunk.
