Police Execute 23-Year-Old Arrest Warrant

Man accused of issuing a bad check in 1989.

A resident of West Haven was arrested by Norwalk Police Thursday for allegedly issuing a bad check in 1989.

Sead Dion, 42, of 22 Peter Lane, was charged with issuing a bad check. He was released after promising to appear in court April 4.

Police were unable to provide further information about the circumstances of the complaint or how Dion was located, but department spokeswoman Sgt. Lisa Cotto said the department holds numerous arrest warrants dating back many years.

Man Claims He Was Sold Defective Car Radiator

Police were dispatched to the Auto Zone store at 50 Cross St. Thursday on a complaint a man walked out of the store with a car radiator he didn't pay for.

Contacted by police, the man said he purchased a defective radiator from the store, and management refused to take it back. The man said a store employee brought out a replacement radiator, and he took it out of the store not knowing he had to pay for it.

The man was not arrested. Officers advised him to contact the store.

"Booted" Car Lost, Found

The company that manages the Webster Street parking lot for the city contacted police Thursday to report a Toyota RAV 4 that had a boot attached to a wheel for failure to pay parking tickets was gone.

Friday morning the company told police the vehicle was located and it would pursue the matter in civil court.

Brien McMahon Student Accused of Possessing Marijuana

A 17-year-old Brien McMahon High School student was arrested Thursday for possession of marijuana. Police said a school security officer smelled marijuana and called police.

He was issued an infraction. The boy's name was not released because he was arrested as a youthful offender.

Man Assaulted After Leaving Uptown Bar

A man called police Thursday night to report he was assaulted on Knight St. after leaving an uptown bar.

The man told police two or three men jumped and assaulted him. He said they then walked north toward North Ave.

Police said the man had facial wounds. Officers reported the victim appeared to be extremely intoxicated and was unable to provide them with further information concerning the attack.

Car Burglarized At Connecticut Ave. Business

An employee of Choice Pet Foods, 360 Connecticut Ave., reported Thursday his car was burglarized in the parking lot.

The victim said the car was locked, but he had left the windows open because it was hot. Someone reached into the car and removed a bag containing a GPS.
