The following information was provided by the Norwalk Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
A Stamford man was arrested by Norwalk Police Wednesday for allegedly robbing a TD Bank branch on Sept. 16.
Police said Michael Jones, 22, of 40 Stillwater Rd., entered the bank at 184 Main St. and handed a teller a note suggesting he had a weapon, although none was shown.
Along with the cash she turned over, the teller gave Jones a dye pack that exploded after he left the bank. During a briefing with reporters Thursday morning, Det. Sgt. Thomas Roncinske said some dye pack evidence may have been found in Jones’ apartment when police executed a search and seizure warrant there Wednesday.

Following the robbery, Norwalk Police distributed surveillance photos taken inside the bank. Jones’ probation officer notified detectives it appeared to be him in the photos.
Stamford Police provided a mug shot of Jones, which detectives used to produce a photo line-up shown to the teller. Roncinske said she did not hesitate for a moment before pointing to the photo of Jones.
