Six Generators Nabbed From Cablevision

The following information was provided by the Norwalk Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Cablevision, 28 Cross St., reported Wednesday the theft of six generators. They were stored in a locked and gated garage, but the company said the thief may have been able to push a fence post far enough out of position to gain access to them. They were identified as five Honda model 2000 generators, and one Honda 1000 model.

Man Sees Car Being Stolen, Fairfield P.D. Gets It Back

A resident at 6 North Taylor Ave. reported early Thursday morning witnessing the theft of his 1993 Honda car.

The man said he heard the car start in his driveway and when he looked out it was being driven away.

Norwalk Police made a hotline broadcast to surrounding agencies, and a Fairfield officer stopped the car at exit 22 on Interstate-95.

Charged with the theft was Nicholas Ramirez, 18, of 125 Asylum Ave., Bridgeport. Ramirez was charged with third-degree larceny, first-degree criminal trover, third-degree burglary, and manufacturing or possessing burglary tools.

He was held on $25,000 bond and given a court date of Sept. 16.

Two Guitars Stolen in Music Store Burglary

The owner of the Norwalk Music Store, 120 New Canaan Ave., reported on Wednesday morning the theft of two guitars, valued at $5,000 each. Entry was gained by forcing open a back door.

Car Burglarized, Purloined Credit Card Used For Local Purchase

The owner of a 2010 Lexus reported Wednesday evening it was burglarized while parked in front of her residence at 19 Bethel St.

Police said a credit card taken was used to make a purchase at AutoZone at 50 Cross Street. A store clerk was able to provide a copy of the sales receipt, which included the purchase of a personal warranty to a man at a New York City address.

The case remains under investigation by the Detective Bureau.

Valuable Bike Removed From Garage

A resident at 79 Windfield St. reported Wednesday evening the theft of a Giant Yukon bicycle worth $800. The bike was taken from a garage after a security chain was cut.

Two Laptops Taken From Car

A resident of 6 Silvermine Ave. had two laptops valued at $2,200 taken from his 2001 Jeep while it was parked at his residence. The theft was discovered Wednesday evening.
